Michigan and its Great Lakes
Michigan is best known for its biggest city, Detroit: the Motor City and the home of Motown music, but there is much more to Michigan than that. Michigan is surrounded by the Great Lakes, which means miles and miles of magnificent white-sand, freshwater beaches. The coasts of the lakes are home to many quaint towns perfect for a weekend getaway. Michigan is made up of the Upper and Lower Peninsulas which are connected by the famous five-mile-long Mackinac Bridge. Once you reach the Upper Peninsula, you can visit the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Sleeping Bear Dunes or visit the majestic Mackinac Island. If you like camping, hiking and breathtaking natural views, Michigan is the place for you.
Vermont in autumn
If you want to experience the most beautiful autumn of your life, visit Vermont! Vermont is a small state located in the Northeast of the United States. In autumn, its trees turn shades of fiery red, bright orange and vivid yellow. The Green Mountains are located in Vermont which make for spectacular views at any time of year. Explore the small mountain towns, go camping or visit cities like Burlington or Rutland.
South Carolina beaches and history
South Carolina is a popular vacation spot for Americans. It’s a state rich with history and beautiful sights. The most popular tourist destinations are Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island which are located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Both are gorgeous places to rent a beach house for a week and relax.
If you want to experience a charming, historical southern town, you must visit Charleston, South Carolina. Founded in 1670, this town is known for its horse-drawn carriages, cobblestone streets and palm trees. It has a lively French quarter, a bustling harbor and beautiful waterfront views. In this city, the first shots of the American Civil War were fired in the nearby Fort Sumter.
The State of Oregon
The most up-and-coming city to be in right now for young Americans is Portland, Oregon. It’s a city full of art, innovation, good food and endless activities. Oregon itself is a beautiful state with incredible natural features. Take a road trip from Portland to the magnificent Cannon Beach or to Newport to eat some delicious seafood. If you like hiking and exploring nature, you’re in luck – Oregon has at least 50 different mountain ranges within its borders!
The State of Kentucky
Located in the southeast of the United States, Kentucky is bounded by the Ohio River in the north and the Appalachian mountains to the south. The Appalachian mountains run from Canada to Alabama, Kentucky is the perfect state to visit in order to see these amazing mountains. Full of green rolling hills, rock formations and colorful forests, these mountains are not to be missed. Another must-see in Kentucky is Mammoth Cave National Park which is home to the longest cave system known in the world and was named a World Heritage Site in 1981. These caves are full of gigantic stalactites and stalagmites, a labyrinth of tunnels, and incredible limestone and sandstone formations which can be seen on the famous Frozen Niagara Room and Grand Avenue tours.
