Language Exchanges (Intercambios)
In Madrid and the surrounding areas, there are tons of language exchanges in a variety of bars and restaurants. Language exchanges allow you to meet new people, better your English skills and help someone else learn your language! If you’re feeling social, why not try one out? Two popular intercambios that take place in Madrid center are located at Bar Menta in La Latina and Carmencita´s in Conde Duque. Lots of people go for the drink specials and to socialize in another language. Carmencita´s offers 1 euro Bellinis during the language exchange.

Trivia Night
If you have a higher level of English and love trivia, participating in a trivia game night is ideal. There are several trivia nights in Madrid that are in English. Go with a group of friends and sign up to compete and put your knowledge to the test. If you win, the usual prize is a free round of drinks for your team. Trivia nights are always lots of fun and it will be a good opportunity to meet other English speakers who live near you. Beerlingual doubles as a trivia night along with the language exchange. Quizzard´s Pub Trivia is another popular trivia night in Malasaña.

Yoga and exercise classes
Do something good for your body AND practice your English at the same time! There are plenty of exercise classes offered in English in the Madrid area. Yoga is a popular activity among expatriates living in Spain, there are many Yoga classes in English to choose from. There are other exercise classes such as zumba and hip hop dance offered in English as well.

If you’re interested in learning how to cook new dishes, or interested in meeting other people who love cooking, sign yourself up for a cooking class in English! Learn kitchen and cooking vocabulary and how to cook something new. At the end of the class you can eat your delicious creation! Meet ups
Meetup.com is an online community that functions worldwide. People create interest groups or activities in their cities that others can participate in. There is guaranteed to be a meet-up that caters to your interests. Many of the meet-up groups are English-speaking, join one and practice your hobby while improving your language skills! On meetup.com you can find activities such as hiking, cooking, wine tasting, language exchanges, sports teams, movie clubs, book clubs, arts and crafts groups, photography clubs and anything else you can imagine.
Be a tourist in your own town
See Madrid through the eyes of a tourist, maybe you will see something different or learn something new about your own city! There are plenty of tours in Madrid offered in English. It could be fun to sign up for a tour in Madrid in English and visit the sights. Maybe there is a museum or monument you have been wanting to visit but haven’t had the chance, or maybe you’d like to take the sightseeing bus and hear about the city in English. There are many types of tours to choose from, you could visit museums, do a walking tour, a history tour, a ghost tour (learn about the haunted places of Madrid), a tour of Santiago Bernabeau or Vicente Calderon Stadium, or ride the red double-decker sightseeing bus. Dreaming California Activities
Our academy, Dreaming California, offers many activities in English on the weekends and during the Christmas and summer vacations. Every weekend we have activities, games and art projects in English in Majadahonda for children. We also organize activities and excursions for teenagers. Each week, the activity has a unique theme. We also organize English camps during Christmas and summer break for kids. Adults can participate in our Just Talk and Singles activities. Just Talk is an English conversation group led by a native speaker. It takes place at our promotional events and at restaurants in Majadahonda.
